Future-proof

Tech switch

Moving to new technology, without losing findability or data. Partial where possible, full where needed.

When the technology holds you back

The future-proof review (or your own experience) shows it: the technology behind your site is holding you back. The team works slowly in the CMS, maintenance gets more expensive, you depend on outdated building blocks, and every change feels like a risk.

Then switching is the sensible route. The only question is: how much?

Partial tech switch

The outdated part gets replaced, the rest stays. Think a new front on a healthy foundation, or removing the one building block that holds you back. Less invasive, faster to complete, and your team keeps working in a familiar environment.

Full tech switch

End of life: moving to new technology, including migration of all your content and data. The biggest step, with the biggest result: a platform that can carry the years ahead again.

What it involves

A move where the shop stays open

  • A migration plan: what moves when, and in what order, so there is never a gap.
  • Data transfer: all your content, customers and orders along, checked and counted.
  • Findability preserved: every old URL forwarded properly (redirects, in trade terms), so Google carries your positions over.
  • Connections rebuilt: your links to other systems (APIs) reconnected and tested.
  • Testing: on real devices and with real scenarios, before the switch.
  • Going live without downtime: the site stays reachable while the technology underneath changes.

The proof: score 98, without downtime

An international consumer brand ran on a heavy page builder with dozens of plugins. We rebuilt the site fully native: without redundant layers, so faster and more stable. 30 plugins removed, database halved, over 100 pages rebuilt, without the site going offline.

The result for visitors: all Core Web Vitals green on Google's real visitor data, an average score of 98. The result for the team: working fast in the CMS again.

Thank you, PMGT, for taking over the website build and creating the e-commerce platform we needed. Your professional and profound approach transformed our online presence and operational efficiency.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my Google positions?

Preserving findability is a fixed part of the migration plan: every old URL is forwarded to its new place, and we monitor positions during and after the switch. That way Google carries your accumulated value over.

Does my site go offline during the switch?

No, that is the premise of the plan: the site stays reachable while the technology underneath changes. In the anchor case, over 100 pages were rebuilt without the site going offline.

Partial or full: who decides?

You do, based on the review. It shows what is nearing end of life and what is still healthy. We advise; you stay in the driver's seat.

What happens to personal data during the migration?

The data transfer is checked and counted: we map where personal data lives beforehand, move it along an agreed route and verify afterwards that everything adds up.

Want to know how much switch you need?

Start with the future-proof review: it points out the route and is fully deducted from the follow-up project.

If the review turns up no improvements, we credit it.
